Winter camping

In winter, Allgäu is transformed into a fairytale landscape.

Perfect for undertaking all sorts of activities direct from the campsite. The well-prepared slopes are tempting, providing great fun for skiers and snowboarders alike.

The nearest hills for skiing and tobogganing are directly next to the campsite and are partly floodlit for evening skiing.

There are skiing and snowboarding schools nearby.

The Felderhalde ski lift is ideal for families with children. It is only 500m away from the campsite and can be reached on foot.

We provide courses for guests in both classical and skating cross-country skiing, plus guided snow-shoe hikes with Leon Adrians, an expert trainer.

Winter sports and cross-country skiing

For our cross-country skiing guests, there are numerous well-groomed trails of all grades of difficulty, e.g. around Isny.

You start off directly from the campsite, practically "on the doorstep".

Snow all round, with a fantastic view of the picturesque winter landscape.

Miles of cross-country ski trails and numerous alpine ski slopes cater for all ages and levels.

Illuminated ski trail

There is also a new illuminated circular ski trail above the campsite. The starting-point is at the Isny cross-country stadium, which is a 2-minute walk from the campsite.

And of course there are lots of places for breaks and après-ski.

In the surrounding area there are several places for ice-skating, e.g. Henggelesweiher, a lake near Maierhöfen.

Tobogganing and sledging

Nearly every hill is suitable for children's favourite activity, sledging.

Those who want something faster can make the hills a less safe place to be on one of the nearby natural toboggan runs.

A hut trek with the magical cosiness of a hut and a hot glass of Jägertee (tea with schnapps) is the ideal way of rounding off a lively, winding sledge tour.

Those who would like to experience something typical of Allgäu should be sure to watch one of the many "Hörnerschlitten" sledge races in the region.

The Eistobel nature reserve

A hike through the Eistobel area is an awesome experience.

Here nature will amaze you with bizarre icescapes.

About 5 km away from Isny lies the wildly romantic Eistobel area – one of nature's masterpieces. Melt water from the ancient Rhine glacier burst through the Iberg-Kapf range and erosion over thousands of years created a funnel-shaped valley or "tobel". Magnificent ice formations in winter gave the valley its name, Eistobel.

Holidays at the Waldbad Camping Park in Isny are synonymous with rest and relaxation in a stunning landscape.

A wealth of activities awaits you, to help
revitalise body, mind and spirit.

Long walks, rest and relaxation

Those who prefer calmer activities than winter sports are sure to be delighted with the number of walks that can also be done in winter. You will soon unwind in the clear, fresh mountain air.

The network of hiking paths is kept clear in winter, guaranteeing you lots of ways of exploring the area. There is also an additional alternative: snowshoeing hikes of varying length and difficulty.

The Aquaria-Bad in Oberstaufen attracts a lot of visitors. Here you can swim and relax with a magnificent view of the mountains.

You can choose sauna landscapes or indoor and outdoor pools, there is a waterslide for the children and lots more – and it's healthy into the bargain.
